IMPORTANT: one of the reasons we are able to accomplish repossessions at such a high recovery rate is that we do not accept or assign accounts on a contingent basis. This yields better results.... Why? Our agents know that all the parties are investing in checking particular addresses, and thus, have a greater likelihood of recovering the car.
It both eliminates “cherry picking” on the part of the field agent, and likewise eliminates the potential for a lienholder to assign accounts using “longshot” information, which only degrades the credibility of all parties involved in the assignment chain.
